Baptism
Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to him.’” - Acts 2:38-39
Baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In our own baptisms, we recognize the death and burial of our old self and the joyous birth of a brand new being in Christ. Baptism is a public act by which the church proclaims God’s grace and our response in faith. Baptism incorporates the believer in the community as a part of the body of Christ and anticipates a life of discipleship to Jesus Christ.
We practice baptism by immersion and recognize other forms of baptism. If you were baptized in a form other than immersion, we would be glad to discuss with you ways to restate your baptismal commitments.
