What to Expect
What We Do:
We gather as a church every Sunday morning to pray, read scripture, sing songs, hear a message, and partake of communion.
Whether online or in-person, a worship service at FCC is a place to meet with God and with one another. We gather to actively hear from and respond to our God. This happens by listening, praying, meditating, speaking, and singing. In each of these ways we can learn, glorify God, and ultimately experience God’s Radical Love.
What We Value:
Convergent Worship — This service style is convergent. This means that we embrace the rich traditions and current trends of church worship and seek to create a place where these diverse elements thoughtfully converge. Musically, this means we sing things like hymns and contemporary songs. Beyond music, though, our services incorporate prayers, artistic elements, readings, sermons, moments of reflections, and other convergent methods of worshipping God.
Simple Worship — This service style is shortened to 30 minutes. This means that we share one song, scripture, message, prayer and communion.
Inclusiveness and Participation — You are welcome here. No matter your background. You are invited to participate in worship, as you are. Whether you are on the platform or in the pews, we encourage you to actively engage in worship directed towards God; our worship is significantly more alive with everyone’s participation.
No one is “singled out” — Whether it’s your 1st time or 1,000th time, we hope you feel welcomed, greeted, respected and included. You are important and valued. Thank you for being part of our congregational worship.
What you wear is a non-issue — What should you wear? Well, you will find a mix of attire at FCC on any given Sunday. Anything from shorts and a t-shirt to a full suit is fine with us.
